Vertical jigging 

Heavy metal jigs worked aggressively near the structure draw reaction strikes from grouper and amberjack. It's more physical and a favorite with experienced anglers who want to work for their fish.

What changes is access. Dry season (December through April) brings the calmest seas and the easiest days on the nearshore reefs. 1. Depart Los Suenos Marina in Herradura Bay and run to the first reef marks.

4. Move between marks through the day to stay on feeding fish.
